Best Spots to See Spring Flowers in Philadelphia

May

I love how different Philadelphia looks in every season! You may have seen my posts on fall and winter in Philadelphia, and spring might be my favorite season to photograph. Spring in Philadelphia is so bright and colorful, and there are beautiful flowers everywhere. The parks around Philadelphia are gorgeous in spring, but don’t count out spots around Center City! If you want to see flowers in Center City, you really can’t go wrong with anywhere you choose, but here are some of the best spots to see spring flowers in Philadelphia!

Best spots to see spring flowers in Philadelphia

Washington, D.C. is known for beautiful cherry blossoms (and I grew up there and can attest to their beauty), but I would encourage anyone to visit Philadelphia for cherry blossoms instead! They are absolutely stunning here, and they’re all over the city. There are many, many places to photograph cherry blossoms and other beautiful spring flowers in Philadelphia, but here are my favorites, including some off-the-beaten-path places!

University of Pennsylvania

I rarely cross the Schuylkill to Penn’s campus, but I happened to drive by one day and saw tons of cherry blossoms in bloom. Cherry blossoms are one of my favorite flowers, so I went back later that day with my camera and took TONS of photos (no surprise there!). I need to go back to explore more of the beautiful campus, but I highly suggest going there when the cherry blossoms are in bloom!

Rittenhouse Square

I love Rittenhouse Square during all seasons (it was featured a lot in my winter post!), and spring is no exception. It can get crowded there, but for good reason. There’s a great variety of colors and flowers, and I could spend hours shooting there!

Not technically in Rittenhouse Square, but I bought these flowers from the farmer’s market there and I love how they brighten up my apartment!

Logan Square

There weren’t too many trees in bloom when I went to Logan Square for a fashion photoshoot, so I bet it’s even more beautiful now! But just the fountain alone with the bright blue, spring sky is so pretty, and it’s a great spot to take photos.

Delancey Place

Delancey Place is one of my favorite off-the-beaten-path places to shoot. I do lots of photoshoots for bloggers there (you can see it featured a ton in my Spring Fashion in Philadelphia post!), and the residents make the street so beautiful with greenery and flowers. Most of these were shot on the block between 18th and 19th Streets.
