My Exciting Upcoming Travels!

Jul

I am so excited about my upcoming travels this summer! 🙂 I’ve actually already been home to North Carolina twice this summer, and I just went on a short trip to Newport, RI for a tennis tournament at the International Tennis Hall of Fame (pictures will be up soon!). And at the end of August, I will actually be going to 6 states within 12 days with a variety of travel partners. With all the jumping around from state to state, I kinda feel like I’m playing a real life game of “Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego?” 😉 One of the many perks of being a freelancer now is being able to work from anywhere in the world without having to worry about using vacation days, and I’m definitely looking forward to taking advantage of that!

Charleston

The Deep South

I have been to 39 states so far, and my goal is to go to all 50 before I turn 30. I was planning on visiting my family in Florida and actually found cheap tickets to New Orleans, so I decided to take a little detour on my way to Florida since Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama are still on my list. I’m all about cheap plane tickets, so I take advantage of them whenever I can. My trip to Italy only happened because I happened to see round trip tickets for only $350!

My mom will be joining me for the first leg of my trip, so we’ll have a short girl’s trip. While we’re in the Deep South, we’ll be staying in New Orleans and driving around Mississippi and Alabama, so I would love suggestions on places to visit if you have any! And restaurant recommendations are always welcome.

Fort Myers, Florida

My family recently moved to Florida, so I’ll be visiting them for the second time since they moved. The beaches at Fort Myers are absolutely beautiful (I posted TONS of photos of the gorgeous water from my last trip), so I’m looking forward to relaxing by the ocean for a few days. I’ll also be going to a Coldplay concert while I’m there, and I’ve been dying to see them for years so I’m pretty stoked!

The Carolinas

One of my friends is having a bachelorette weekend in Charleston, SC, so I’ll be going home to North Carolina for a bit before heading down the Charleston with my college friends. I’ve been to Charleston twice before and I absolutely love it there! The historic houses are gorgeous, and it’s such a nice place to visit.

One of my traveling goals is to head over to the USA and do a huge road trip through all 50 states. This post is getting bookmarked for future reference 😀

  3. So jealous of your summer! That sounds and looks so fun!

That sounds so exciting! Happy almost birthday!! We haven’t traveled much in the United States, but we’d love to do more. Our favorite so far was Alaska. Can’t wait to follow along on your adventure!

  5. I wish you all the best in meeting your goal of 50 states by 30. Your pictures don’t look like the US at all. They look like a remote island, my favorite fairy tale place to be 🙂

I love Newport! I’ve been several times and I can’t wait to go back. Excited to see pictures of your upcoming trip. Oh, and I also travel with a fjallraven! I haven’t seen too many people (in the US that is) that have one so I was super excited to see yours 🙂

I’m feeling inspired. Maybe I need to set the same goal…but before I turn 50. I’m slightly older than you and much less travelled.
